Pneumatic & Sloth - Audibly Nice
We’ve known about these guys for sometime now. If you’re down with Blunted then you may well have seen them last year on the Blunted Boat Party or more recently at the LMFLH VOL.2 Album Launch Party. Now they are releasing their long awaited album ‘Audibly Nice’.
Check out the newly launched headcountrecords.co.uk. The site features gig listings, photos and free downloads of Sloth’s previously unreleased projects. Not to mention the animated video for ‘Our Season’ (taken from ‘Audibly Nice’) that features Lego B-Boys, 50 Cent, a paper Simon Cowell and much more tomfoolery!
Headcount Records’ third release sees Pneumatic & Sloth teaming up for a trailblazing debut album. P-Man & Sloth first got their shit together way back in 1999 thanks to the ukhh.com forum. The boys have been lurking in the undergrowth for some years now, gradually building up an arsenal of excellent songs sure to please die-hard Hip Hoppers and newcomers alike.
Pneumatic’s raw northern patter fits perfectly over Sloth’s distinctive, musical beats.Their first release ‘The New Wave E.P’ received rave reviews and support, establishing them as a talent to watch out for. Over the last couple of years they have supported the likes of Skinnyman, Lowkey, Phi Life Cypher, Killa Kela, Ugly Duckling, Dirty Diggers to name but a few and have played throughout the UK.
Hailing from Warrington and Oxford respectively, the duo has something fresh to bring to the UK Hip Hop scene. The album is wide ranging in terms of both musical influences and lyrical content. Straight up Hip Hop bangers such as ‘The Morning Star’ and ‘It Gets A Little Louder’ nestle snugly beside the summer time anthem ‘Sit Back’, the epic ‘The Showdown’ and the relentlessly uplifting ‘Navigate Through’. Sloth’s intricately woven beats sample everything from 60’s Rock to laid back Jazz, Medieval Folk to Electro Bleeps.
Pneumatic keeps the listeners attention with a variety of topics such as deforestation, drinking, partying, smoking the green, depression and the daily grind, but all done with a sense of humour and deftness of touch that marks him as a true individual and an emcee to watch out for.
