Although we are all undoubtedly going to miss the old Zodiac with its sweaty walls, shaky floor and just general dirtiness, the new, freshly refurbished and enlarged Oxford Academy is already promising to be the stage for some messy nights.

Already lined up for this autumn is Ska Cubano (27^th September) with their mix of ska and Cuban mambo followed by the return to his old haunts of DJ Derek. Following that on the 28^th there is a night of Drum ‘n’ Bass filled fury with the likes of Andy Whitby, Ryan Asbo, Goldie and Distorted Minds among others.

Mr Scruff makes a visit to the Academy on the 12^th October followed by Pendulum on the 26^th October, with local boy DJ Fu as support. Then we see a welcome visit from the Scratch Perverts on November 16th.

September also sees the return of Hit and Run, Oxfords Hip Hop and Drum ‘n’ Bass night. They’re back after the summer break on the 26^th September with their fortnightly party with local talent DJ Fu, DJ Flawless and DJ Charris among others. As well as this they are presenting some big nights with Andy C (Oxford Brookes Student Union – 13^th October), the aforementioned visit of the Scratch Perverts (Oxford Academy – November 16^th), and the Foreign Beggars (23^rd November) the highlights of what promises to be a happy few months for the Oxford music loving crowd.
