Anyone who’s down with Blunted know that we go back along way with DJ Para. From the early days of his exploits as scratch DJ for the legendary No More Horses, Para’s hard work has recently seen him get signed up to Breakin Bread. In the interim there have been a number of quality releases, all of which are worth copping.

Highlights for me include A Form Of Awareness - a mix which to me is timeless. It stood out purely cos it excited me. It subjected me to tunes I had never heard of, crossing genres from hiphop to funk, soul and breaks. With his next level scratching, I never tire of listening to this mix.

With other releases like The Saxton Collection, All Pieces Fit and most recently Feats Per Minute, Para shows that he really has got the skills and the talent.

So here it is, his latest release from Breakin Bread. Be sure to check the tunes… then buy em!

Dj Para - You Never Change/For Dance

Para is welcomed into the Breakin Bread label as another purveyor of quality, breakbeat tinged, funky as hell dancefloor music.

1: You Never Change:

This tune is a nod toward Nina Simone’s classic “Funkier than a Mosquito’s Tweeter”. This is a heavy upbeat guitar/bass driven track. Hard drums with strong lead vocals and some seriously funky hooks make it instantly appealing to the ears.

The track features mostly live instrumentation giving it a raw organic edge.

2: For Dance:

For this track Para enlisted the aid of Baila to help create a dance floor rocker. Starting with funk guitars and a massive bass riffs the track then drops into heavy drums guaranteed to please the B-boys and B-girls. Definitely a party tune with a party groove.
