Riz - People Like People, Britz + BBC Electric Proms
Fresh from playing at the BBC electric proms at the Jazz Cafe, there is no time for Riz to rest. His new single People Like People is released on Monday 29th October from iTunes (please support and spread the word!). This man of many talents is also coming to a TV near you as he stars in Channel 4’s drama Britz.
It seems that controversy follows Riz wherever he goes. He’s an educated, talented young British Muslim, who isn’t afraid to speak his mind. In fact, speaking his mind is something he has got down to a fine art as you can see from this video at The Jump Off
Taking his MCing to the next level, Riz released Post 9/11 Blues, a satirical look at the events in the years that followed September 11th 2001. Although many mainstream radios stations found the single hard to pallet, Riz kept pushing himself forward.
His most recent single, People Like People was one of the tunes in his lively set at this years BBC Electric Proms.

Britz
Riz is returning to our screens in a controversial 2 part thriller on Channel 4. After his critically acclaimed performance in Road To Guantanamo, Riz backs up his serious acting credentials in Britz, showing on Channel 4, Wednesday 31st October at 9pm.

“In a stellar performance that kept Britz on track through some meandering moments, Riz Ahmed caught the conflicts engulfing Sohail with engaging accuracy…Away from acting, Ahmed creates music under the banner of Riz MC and he caused a stir with download release The Post 9/11 Blues, a darkly humorous take on how young Muslims are treated in modern Britain. It’s worth checking out - taken together with Britz it opens up the door to a world too often reduced to sinister stereotypes”. Metro - 1/11/07
