Big Thanks from Blunted // Oxjam!
We have had some really good gigs over the last 5 years. It seems that each night has different qualities. Friday’s Oxjam was no exception. One of the best things about the gigs at The Star and Sailor is the atmosphere. Props to Indecision for being the first DJ to get people (ladies) dancing. Also, big ups to Pneu and Sloth for playing wicked sets.
The night was kicked off by OMC (Ill Techs), who provided the ideal prelude to the fantastic Shofar Horns. With no big announcement, the group comprising of one Trombonist, Tenor and Alto Sax started jamming over beats provided by Tom Caruana.
Big ups to Tom Simpson and Dutch Courage who each played blinding sets, helping raise the general party vibe. Then came a Indecison, boy this lad can get the party started. Mixing up his Raggae with his Hiphop and his Soul, before long people were shimmying all over the place.
In true Blunted tradition the following set was something a little bit different. MC and Producer combination of Pneumatic and Sloth took to the decks. They laid down a classic set giving the whole place a real house party vibe.
Lastly, thanks to everyone that came down and supported Blunted and Oxjam. We made a respectable £55 which will be donated to Oxfam.
Don’t forget, Blunted is on the last Friday of the month, the next being on Friday 30th November with some special guests to be confirmed. Also, if you haven’t made any plans for NYE, don’t worry, Blunted might just have the answer…
