DSM News - Dec 2007
Conceived in the summer of 2006 by friends and stalwarts of the Cheltenham and Gloucester drum’n'bass scenes Subverse and Stumasta, Deep Soul Music has been one of the surprise packages of 2007.
DSM004 - SPECTRASOUL - DOWN TOWN CHICAGO b/w THE WEAKNESS
Release Date: January 2008
Helping the us pick up from where we left off in 2007, are Spectrasoul who are by now an act in little need of any introduction; from the city that spawned DJ Friction, this Brighton based duo continue to surge from strength to strength with their unique brand of deep, stripped down, moody funk. With a production ethos some would say comparable to that of the mighty Calibre, Spectrasoul’s comprehensive grasp of soul sampling has been a defining characteristic since day one. Having attracted the attention of labels including Shogun, Horizons and Nu: Directions, DSM present to you their fourth label release in the form of tracks ‘Down Town Chicago’ and ‘The Weakness’.
