In this interview Provokal talks of his good luck and future plans to work with B-Real of Cypress Hill. Some of you will know him through his exploits with Banbury-based Riskie Business. Now he’s working with Broken Souls and hard for his future…

So what have you been upto?

Off to LA in March to have meeting with Koch Records and work with B-Real (Cypress Hill), I can’t wait! If all goes well, I would love to move out there too.

So how did the link with B-Real come about?

I entered a worldwide competition looking for the Top 20 up-and-coming artists and I was contacted back from Keen (Audio Hustlaz) as they felt my tracks, so rather lucky!

Thats sick - was is one of the tunes off the ‘Its Provokal EP?’

They were some of my recently recorded studio tracks (props to Munk for the record, mix and mastering). The tracks were Produced by ImZ whom is my friend, producer, manager and CEO of Broken Souls.

Props! So what does the future hold for Riskie Business?

At the moment it is hard to see where it is going as Doctor Freud recently relocated to Australia to work down under for 7 months and when he returns he is moving down south I believe, but I am being optimistic as we are all close mates as well as a group and would love to put out at least one project as we have been working together around 2-3 years.

So you doing any solo shows in the run up to your LA meeting?

Nah, I am flat out trying to get on point mentally and physically for this LA adventure, I really want to be able to give it a 110% so when I reflect I know I gave it my all, so I got to be disciplined no partying, drinking and all that!

Fair play - I’ve been rinsing your EP, would I be able to up it and make it available for download with this interview?

I wish bro, but I ain’t able to put out the new material as of yet, as I am working on this with labels and all that, so it is different scenario as to if I was pushing myself, there’s more guidance on what to do and when to do it, although we’ve put a few tracks up on the Myspace and the Provokal facebook artist page!
