“The Kemistry are a new group from East London blending different styles of music together. With different understandings and beliefs about the latest forms of fashion and the latest music crazes, the fusion or these three individual characters (The Kemistry) is a rarity yet a reality. As the one thing we all understood was the music we made, we loved it and it got our souls moving on the same path, like a chemical reaction, that worked in the flavour of it’s substances and the music being a catalyst of three great friendships.

The trio have a Digital Only EP dropping on the 1st December . ‘The Kemistry EP’ is 20 minutes of niceness and introduces this new act to the world. This video is part of a series of cutting up old b-movies too fit certain tracks . ‘The Core’ is taken from The Kemistry’s forth coming album ‘A Difference’, which is still be made. Although some would argue that the UK hiphip scene is floundering, I’ve stumbled across something that has renewed my faith.  Rup has teamed up with his 27Beats accomplice Naim. I think what makes this tune something special is the amount of thought and effort that has gone into making it happen.  The tune is being being released on Hear Today Records in late 2008 and they have gone to the trouble of making a dope video to accompany ‘Style That You Like’.

The tune has been describe by HTR as “3 minutes of Rup’s musings over sparse Scandinavian electronica, punctuated by Naim’s infectious vocals. All visualized by illustrator-come-video-artist Rich Clements.”

Anyways, one of the events he organized was a day graff jam - with a difference. Instead of graffing up buildings, they built a box wall and graffed that instead! Here’s an unedited video of the days events filmed by the Yasemin Sabuncu, for your viewing pleasure!

They’ve been plugging away for some time and have now built up quite a reputation for their live shows. Such a good reputation that this Summer, they played at 14 festivals. The band is made up of 9 members, including DJ Itchi, a dope horn section, 2 MCs and beatboxer WanDan.

They have just released a video for their new single Even Out. Check it.

There is no doubt that the lead character Shaun played by Thomas Turgoose is the star of the film. With such a breathtaking performance, you might be forgiven for thing that Turgoose is a classically trained actor or that he actually enjoys acting. You’d be wrong.

Truth is Shane Meadows searched the length and breadth of the country to find the actor right to play Shaun. It wasn’t until he chanced upon a community project in Grimbsy that he came across Thomas Turgoose.

Here is his audition tape. It gives you a real insight into kind a kid he really is. I think what strikes me is how genuine he comes across and how it translates to a captivating performance in the film itself.

It seems that, good old fellow + rap + tea = much hilarious japery. But don’t take my word for it, here is a selection of comments left -
