This is gonna be a belter. Our versus nights always are! On Saturday, you are cordially invited to attend a party in the big smoke with Skylarkin’ and Blunted combining forces. In the main room Skylarkin’ will hold court with the likes of Natty Bo & The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band. Meanwhile in the basement, Blunted will be brockin’ out to the sounds of Para & Baila’s breaks, funk and scratches, The Ill Technicians getting their funky thing on, Simpson and Dutch Courage smashing up the dancefloor and Grande standardly dropping boms as only he knows how.

Yowzer, another special little comp for my Blunted people! This time the mighty Mean Poppa Lean head up the bill this Friday at Brighton’s Latest Music Bar (formerly Joogleberry Playhouse). This is their first Brighton gig for 2 months so it’s bound to be a smasher…..What, huh, tickets? Need a couple, don’t want to pay a measly fee of £5? Here’s a tasty little treat for y’all…. Skylarkin Soundsystem has a shindig this Friday and Blunted have 2 tickets to give away! The soundsystem is guaranteed to rock the Cellar to the core as anyone who has seen the Disco Shed or been to one of the nights on the Cowley Road will testify.

Here’s a few words from Skylarkin impresario Count Skylarkin -

With a heavy heart, after six and a half years I have finally taken my regular clubnight off the Cowley Road. However, I promise there are great times to be had for those willing to come trip-trapping over that bridge…
Legendary reggae and soul knees-up packs its bags to become a monthly fixture at Oxford’s leading independent venue. A match made in heaven, but consummated in a rum-soaked vault of seedy vintage glamour.

Another smasher of a night in store. This time Free Range are bringing the Shoguns Assassins Tour to Oxford’s Carling Academy. The regular Blunted bloggers will have a good idea what to expect from the extremely likeable DJ Woody as his Blunted interview illustrated. This really is another monster lineup with Friction and Dillinja heading up the bill. Both these names should be enough to book your tickets but theres a real wealth of talent which is also worth checking out; Benga, Caspa and Rusko for the dubstep heads, and Gentlemans Dub Club bringing their live dubbed out grooves to the show. All this is complimented by the ubiquitous Count Skylarkin’ and his trusty Disco Shed.
